Principle of Operation

The Alkalinity Sensor operates without a pH sensor, utilizing a conductivity sensor instead to monitor changes during the automatic titration of an acid. As the acid is added, it consumes the alkalinity, altering the conductivity. Once the alkalinity is completely neutralized, additional acid causes the conductivity to change in a distinct manner. The Alkalinity Sensor accurately calculates total alkalinity by tracking the amount and normality of the acid used. This innovative approach to measuring conductivity means that the Alkalinity Sensor requires no calibration, streamlining its use and maintenance.

The PC3400 is the first Particle Counter specifically designed for use in drinking water treatment plants and includes an uncomplicated calibration process for the end user.
